My high school chemistry teacher told us a story about when he was teaching in India during the first moon landing. He talked about it in class and later that day was pulled aside by his superior who told him he is forbidden to mention the moon landing in class because the kids won't be able to understand how the astronauts made it through the seven doors separating the earth from the moon!
I'm assuming they were Hindu. Obviously, some would say they have since found a way to "reconcile" science with religion, but what they really did was throw out a worthless belief. There was no reconciliation.
Just a thought...
