Interesting comments, but there are two sides to every coin. As an ex-JW, and webmaster of a site for gay & Lesbian ex-JW's (http://www.gayxjw.org), I have received numerous e-mails from JW's which range from accusatory to downright
condemning. Some have used language which these individuals could be reproved, if not disfellowshipped for. I have even received two death threats (both have been traced back to their origin and are currently under investigation).
I
have no compunction about freely giving my real e-mail address (even though I do have a Hotmail address as well, which I use when I'm travelling).
I have a couple thousand e-mail addresses of active JW's, as well as the URL's of
over 400 active JW's home pages on my database, but I see no point in contacting any of these people unless they express an interest in leaving the Organization and request my assistance in some way. To "spam" active JW's with
"apostate" mail serves no useful purpose, and may in fact have exactly the opposite desired effect. JW's, I have found, love to feel as if they have been martyred.
Myself, I read all my mail. Some of it comes under the wrath of my
"delete" button upon reading it. Others are worthy of a reply. Occasionally, I will receive a real "winner" which is worth saving (and forwarding to some of my friends so they can share the laughter).
