No, a7p, you are wrong. It is not focused. This forum is open. It is specifically titled "The International Open Forum." This is in contrast with other forums on this site which are grouped together and called, specifically, "Focused forums." If focused discussion is what you want, then you'd do well to confine your participation to those forums which are specifically titled "focused." This forum is distinct from the focused forums; it is "open" by title, by creator's intent, and by function.

I'd suggest a careful, thoughtful rereading of the FPP, a7p. I believe you're reading into it somethings that aren't stated. The FPP consists of what is stated in the printed word, not what is inferred by the reader.
Are you here to help or hurt and discourage. I think this deserves consideration. If that makes me a jirk, so be it.
I'm here for a number of different reasons, a7p, but the most prominent one is, I'm here because H2O makes me feel good. I don't hurt people deliberately, but I do tell it straight. Beating around the bush doesn't accomplish anything, and on here it's completely useless. Cut to the chase, son.
I want people to think. I hope I accomplished that.
It's a noble aim, and one you share with most of us. Welcome to the club. Perhaps the atheist group here simply want people to stretch the bounds of their thinking a bit further than the limits you are trying to set. As I said earlier, no one is prosyletizing for atheism here. But if truth is really what we're after, then we'll have to follow where the light of truth shines, no matter what that may prove to be.
If love and respect rub you the wrong way then so be it, Captain. Let your colors show.
I always let my true colors show. There's nothing pretend about me, a7p. Since you're a new participant here, you might want to hold off a while on making these kinds of judgments and just get to know people here better first. The reality is not as black and white as your perception.
