I said "they" speaking collectively of active JW's (of course some of them still would have friendships with DFs or DAs, but against the society's direction).
I still do have quite a few friendships with JWs, but most of them do not venture into the waters of challenging their beliefs.
Perhaps I wrongly assumed that you did not continually have a longing on Tuesday/Thursday evenings to be sitting in the hall answering the questions (smile).
