Rick,
I'm glad you seem to understand that this has taken the form of a personal vendetta from a certain moderator, perhaps two, against a few individuals like Doug and Norm. I hope you can put an end to that.
We have no problems with rules. We need posting rules on H2O. More precisely, we need new rules. To have a rule against "postings that offend" or a text to that effect is not a good idea. It could just as well say "if you don't like it, you can delete it."
I applaud your reaffirmation of free speech on H2O.
I hope we can get back to issues. I'm very, very sick & tired of moderator discussions, and I think most others are too, including yourself!
PS: How about moderators more frequently posting warnings not blind deletions? Posters who step over the line will be more likely to calm down if given a fair warning. If the posting was obviously over the line, how about a removal and an explanation?
Simply deleting a message may have no effect, since 1) the user may not even know that the message was deleted, and certainly not why (what did I wrote two days ago?); 2) it is very provoking to have hard work sent into the
bit bucket just like that, and provocation doesn't calm down people.
