:::I see an incredible amount of compliance with
whatever the Society demands regardless of logic.
Is it possible that this boredom is essential
to their success?
No, I don't think you're on the right track. I think that each prospective JW has a turning point when they've been coerced into accepting all the phony logic and they think they have to become a jw. They hold off the inevitable for a while and then like a wave it over powers them and they surrender to the full affects of the ocean or the Organisation. As with a wave, they are tossed around with a number of unexpected turns and tumbles, but having already surrendered, they are now powerless to stand up and admit they don't like what's happening. They are caught up and they find it's easier not to struggle. The boredom, which is crushing, is just part of the hassle to be endured. The monotonous drone of meetings is to some extent reasuring as it's now familiar and familiarity is comfortable. Already they are already convinced that there is something wrong with them for not enjoying the meetings.
And yet it's such an anathema (I can't spell for nuts I know it), that when someone comes a long in a life boat and offers to throw the exhausted dub a life bouy, the bewildered Witness swims frantically in the opposite direction. Go figure!
