This is the same as the trend towards less use of antibiotics in medicine. No sane person would bannish use of antibiotics alltogether; that would no doubt result in millions of deaths in a few years.
Only a JW would read such a report as saying that blood transfusions are bad per se. It is a debate about the size of a dose, not primarily about whether to give a transfusion or not.
Generally, it is also a bad idea for form any conclusions based on one journalistic
retelling of one new medical report.
