I found the "secret" Gospel of Mark to be quite intriguing, and it's an interesting possibility that the "resurrection" of Lazarus wasn't a physical one.
You also brought up things about the parallel accounts of Mary anointing Jesus... This is my take on it:
The parallel accounts of Jesus being anointed with spikenard can be found at Matthew 26:7; Mark 14:3; and Luke 7:37, 38. This is what I find interesting...
In Matthew 26:6-13
"Simon" is a leper.
It
places Mary(?) at the home of "Simon."
It says the Disciples were present.
The Passover was in two days.
In Mark 14:3-9
"Simon" is a leper.
It places Mary(?) at the home of "Simon."
It says people were present, but there
is no mention as to who they really were. (Could be the disciples...)
The Passover was in two days.
In Luke 7:36-50
"Simon" is a Pharisee.
It places Mary(?) at the home of "Simon."
Other Pharisees were present.
It says
nothing about the Passover.
Mary(?) was a "sinner." (Was she possibly an adulteress or prostitute?)
In John 12:1-8
There is no mention of "Simon."
The disciples and "Lazarus" were present.
It places Mary at her home(?) in
Bethany.
The Passover was in six days.
Judas Iscariot was the only one who objected to the anointing.
IMHO, the accounts don't necessarily agree with one another, or complement one another.
By the way, you can E-Mail me that article if you wish.
