Hi Rick,
I move this up to the top, because the original thread is to far down the page.
Thank you for taking the time to answer. You said:
Norm, I don't have time to spar with you. However, for all our differences and my disappointments that someone intelligently as yourself has gone IMHO overboard, I have this to say:
I understand that you are busy. I am not gone overboard as I will explain.
Your posts are amongst those I read first when coming onto the board. My attempt to curb in the egregious quoting wasn't an attempt to stifle you. In a matter of fact, I like your style. You take a lot of painstaking effort to accurately quote Watchtower materials and place them together such that the reader clearly sees blatant contradictions in our own literature. This is a commendable effort on your part, because it shows the folly of looking at our literature as "the final authority" on matters of faith, conscience and belief.
Again thank you for the kind words, what you describe here is exactly what I want to achieve with my messages. But then this matter is even stranger Rick. Because it is exactly messages like this which have been deleted the last few days. The few messages I have posted have been deleted 100%. Has it crossed you mind that this might be the reason I have gone a tad overboard? Here you tell me that my postings are commendable, yet they get deleted before hardly anyone can read them. Now I understand even less about whats going on here. Why was these messages deleted then?
The problem is that sometimes you come across as extremely angry and distrustful of everyone, even to the point of
believing H2O is either some sort of WTS or fundy conspiracy. In fact H2O is just a site that has grown too fast, has become unmanageable and to some extent is out of control. That doesn't mean it must go. I believe it's a matter of time
before we achieve a good middleground that is beneficial to all to some extent.
I think many JWs enjoy your posts, your candor, your dry humor and serious commentary. If the serious problems in the organization are resolved, would you
consider returning and giving it another shot?
Rick
Well, as I explained above, I quite naturally come across as angry and distrustful. I get that way when I am met with such contradictory and erratic actions as I have seen here
lately. I do not believe that H2O is a fundy conspiracy. I am however confused, and even more so after what you said above, as to what kind of policy you have, if any.
Now you tell me that the egregious quoting wasn't an attempt to stifle
me. Well, Rick, how do you think it comes across to me when two such articles get deleted in one day? Can you tell me anything about the thought process, if any which is behind such decisions? I most certainly hope that people enjoy
reading my contributions on the board, that is one of the reasons I post them, but then again why do one of my IMNSHO best articles of the type you describe so eloquently, get deleted faster than I can read? How can the readers on this
board enjoy my candor, my dry humor and serious commentary, when one or more of your overactive moderators rip these off the board before anyone get to read them? Could you explain that to me Rick? As for me joining the Watchtower organization
if they clean up their act, no, I wouldnt return, I have outgrown it. I would of course like to be able to communicate freely with my long lost friends in the organization, which today is bound by their loyalty to that
monstrosity.
Utterly confused,
Norm.
