I guess I have not been sensitized to the manipulative uses of the passive sense.
In any case, I admit that phrase was also poorly worded. To clarify, one problem I find with the JW religion is that the organization is put on a pedestal. That said, my use of the passive wording is deliberate to the degree that my focus is not on the source or cause of that view of the oganization, but rather that the situation exists. The organization is put on a pedestal, - by the Governing Body, by all those in responsible positions, and by the rank and file.
If my approach is still disagreeable in some way, then perhaps I am the victim of too much exposure. :-)
