Jan,
>That is a direct lie if it really says that about all Bible mss' found at Qumran. Since most fundies neither care nor are competent
to check the originals, fundie Bible "handbooks" are free to make such claims.

That sounded awfully like an ad hominem attack mean't to automatically dismiss my source. Can't we go beyond that?
That's what it says and incidentally, I have never heard that the finding of the Dead Sea scrolls caused the bible to lose credibility.....

Why is it that anything positive said about scripture is a "lie" or "fundie" or "pseudo-scientific"?
Do we need to play games where we add up our sources and merits/demerits of scholars to see who is likely right?

I just quoted from one publication that specializes in views of religions. I found their "religions of the world" handbook presented many faiths in a non-judgemental way. I am also finding that it deals with Christianity in the same way.
The difference between it's views and yours/some scholars is that it (example) accepts the gospels as 'evidence' and challenges scholars to show why 'secular sources' are not held to the same 'higher critisism'.
