In today's Watchtower study (of which I'm also the conductor) on page 17, parragraph 16 tells us: "We do not know how many of the anointed were gathered in the first century and from among the 'weeds' during the dark centuries of
Christendom's great apostasy." And it goes on to say that by 1935 52,465 claimed to be of the "anointed. That means that only about 90,000 were chosen throughout all the centuries since Christ to be of the "anointed". They then surely
know that about that amount were collected. How incredible it is to believe that in the first century with the apostles guided by holy spirit only so few proved faithful as heirs to the heavenly Kingdom! According to some, hundreds and
hundreds of thousands died as martyrs in the first three centuries. Amazing!! The problem lies in the Watchtower Society's interpretation of the "144,000". Revelation makes it clear that it's a symbolic number since you can't add up
symbolic numbers (12,000 from each tribe) and come out with a literal number......
