I think I'm going to get some rest and wrap this up for the week. I couldn't click on your posts to take a look at them, neither could I copy and paste them to the URL after "messages/deleted/", and I'm too tired to go searching for them. It might be that you would like Witnesses.net better. I suggest providing links that I can paste into the URL field and go to without spending a half hour to an hour searching for them. To you, killing that amount of time may mean nothing, but to me it does.

I guess what disappoints me most is that everyone complains about the moderators, but not one individual has provided a carefully documented trail of links to deleted postings that don't violate the FPP. I have looked at many links today and in one way or another they either have no relevancy to H2O, are off-topic, or simply show disrespect for others.

Some would love H2O to become a surrogate for the over 30,000 newsgroups out there, and cannot fathom posts removed for not being relevant. They believe sincerely we have unlimited bandwidth, thousands of gigabytes of server space and unlimited funding.

Others are a wee bit more practical. They would like only discussions they personally consider relevant, and to hell with any other discussion.

Still others believe the "for Jehovah's Witnesss" translated means "for Jehovah's Witnesses who want to discuss anything but their religion," and the "and other interested ones" to mean "and other interested ones who are most interested in bashing JWs."

Finally there are those who sincerely believe that unless we protect the anarchist who cries "fire!!!!" in a crowded theater, our freedom of speech is in jeopardy. They would also like to see taxpayer money they believe is wasted on law enforcement, government and military returned to the taxpayer.

H2O has had more than its share of these ones coming to our forum and venting about the concept of moderators. I'm going to allow them to stay unless I hear lots of complaints from lots of people about a given moderator, get clickable links that actually work to deleted posts so I can quickly go there and see if there's a problem, and allow them to remove posts where people keep badgering the board to death about a deleted post.

The only topic these days is moderator "abuse." I suggest sticking to the discussion purpose of this board. Namecalling, cruel innuendos about others that are clearly vulgar or humiliating to someone, and contant complaining about a moderator (rather than a single emailed complaint to H2O), is "disruptive" to the board.

I don't feel that after all the work I've done for this board, that I have to "kiss up" to its vocal critics to keep the peace. If a moderator is really abusing their authority, then someone should be able to email H2O a clear, intelligent, and well documented complaint WITH WORKING LINKS TO THE DELETED FILES. On the other hand, if you're afraid in doing so that your complaint won't hold water then you'll want to make it as difficult for me as possible to investigate.

I'll see you all in a week or so, possibly earlier as time allows. Again, send well documented complaints with WORKING LINKS TO DELETED POSTS (I suggest testing links yourself to be sure they can cut-and-paste into URL field and work the first time). Convince me a moderator is bad, like you're trying to convince me the WTS is not up to your standards.

That isn't too much to ask if you really believe you were wronged. I'm serious that if I look at a well documented complaint with working links, go to the links and see relevant posts deleted, I'll forward a copy of your complaint (without your email address or identity) to the moderator. I'll insist they adequately explain their actions and if they fail to, then I'll ask them to resign. If they won't resign then I'll deactivate their moderator console, if I sincerely feel they are abusing their authority. But if you read the initial post in this topic you'll understand I have limited time, so the better your case the more likely for me to take action.

Rick
