Christianity is based on love and belief in Jesus, not necessarily doctrine. A person can only be Christian inasmuch as they manifest love. Organized religion is a tyranny, not love. It focuses on conformity of belief and rules, much like the Pharisees. If you examine history, it has also been responsible for untold pain and bloodshed. That's why an arrogant, self-righteous pedant who goes to church every Sunday can be a lot closer to destruction than a prostitute.
If anyone is going to be "saved" it's going to be some from this church, some from that. Some Catholics, some Protestants, some JWs, etc. In the end, it's their character, not their beliefs that are going to matter most to God.
