Divorce is devastating
In society divorce is a necessary evil. While there are cases where divorce is appropriate, such as where domestic violence is present, but in far too many cases the concept of marriage is not well considered and divorce is applied inappropriately. Today the early years of marriage are used to test compatibility between 2 people. As long as the marriage only involves 2 people the far-reaching effects of divorce and terminating a marriage is much less than if the marriage produces children. Often the early years of marriage produce children. When children are introduced then the termination of a marriage becomes very complicated. Sadly the children get lost in the fighting and the selfish concerns of the principal couple in a marriage. In a marriage the union of a man and a woman are very important and they are the foundation that the family is built on.
When a house is viewed from the outside few people see the foundation, but it is the strength of the foundation that the house stands. When a house is built on that foundation and that foundation crumbles and fails then the house above collapses. The children of a marriage are the items that make up the house. Sometime when the house collapses individual items survive the collapse, but it is very rare for any item to escape a collapse without scars.
Many times the foundation of a house can have flaws. Perhaps the foundation is deep and it provides the room for a basement, but sometimes the wall has a crack and it leaks water at times. It is very rare that the entire foundation is destroyed, but many times the foundation of a family is destroyed because of a simple crack.
Marriage should be handled very seriously and it should not be used to provide the function of dating and courtship.
