I am completely and thoroughly disgusted with the state of political contests today especially national races. We have:
Military records controversy
Misleading or outright lies
The military draft rumors
The Iraq political and military problems
The social security future
The prescription drug cost issue
The skyrocketing medical care costs and dwindling medical insurance coverage
The election fraud issues
The families of candidates
Jobs and job outsourcing
And many more issues…
The lies and half truths regarding these issues and others are really bothersome. The American people are not stupid yet the campaigns on both sides use shortened and misleading sound bites and text quotes.
My vote in this race does not count. This election will be decided by the court system regardless of the election outcome. I expect that the legal disputes regarding the national election this year will be vast and unprecedented and make the 2000 election seem trivial. All citizens of the United States have a right to vote, but the attempt to disenfranchise active military members was appalling.
I would really like for The American people to be able to evaluate candidates based on truth rather than on sound bites and video attractiveness.
