Welcome, this site is dedicated to the great game Liberty or Death from Koei. The SNES version of Liberty or Death is my favorite over the others that Koei released so this website will mainly focus on this version. Although I did beat the game playing both as the American and then as the British I often wondered what it would be like if I could change things that were outside the scope of the original game.
To my disappointment there were never any useful information on the internet to enhance my Liberty or Death gaming experience. After searching randomly over the years on the internet for any new information I finally decided to take matters into my own hands. By searching, altering, and testing the memory addresses of Liberty or Death I was able to do some pretty fun and interesting stuff. This testing eventually led to the creation of codes to easily modify the game.
I spent quite a bit of my free spare time to create and test the codes posted here for Liberty or Death. These codes are in Pro Action Replay format because the game genie does not have the capability to apply cheats to this game. Feel free to use these codes for your enjoyment but PLEASE do not post them anywhere or take credit for my hard work.

UPDATE - Feb. 4, 2005
Well, I think I have done all I planned to do with this site. I will keep the site up since it still has a lot of great information. Hope you Liberty or Death players find it useful!
Previous updates can be seen HERE.

EMULATOR NOTES:
(1) The PC SNES emulator Snes9X (v1.42) can not handle a large amount of codes entered for any single game. It seems to only accept about
50 or so before it stops taking any more codes. ZSNES (v1.36) can handle up to
255 codes. For this and other reasons I recommend using ZSNES over Snes9x for PC SNES emulation.
To download ZSNES just go to their website at the link below.
(2) For the maximum realistic control when playing emulated SNES games on your PC, I recommend getting a playstation to USB controller adapter. The playstation controller has the same basic button layout as an original SNES controller so it works great for SNES emulation gaming. These adapters cost very little (about $10.00 + shipping) and work perfect in just about any game in windows 98, 2000, or XP. For an online vendor I trust who sells these adapters just go to link below.

PRO ACTION REPLAY CODE NOTES:
(1) The "unlimited budget money" codes effect both sides since the same hex addresses are shared but the CPU does not seem to fully take advantage of the extra income so it is still considered an advantage for you.
(2) The codes which give districts unlimited money, food, and powder will work regardless of which side is controlling the district in question so be sure not to have these codes enabled for a CPU controlled district.
(3) The "attacking unit unlimited movement" codes effects whichever side is attacking so make sure it is turned off when you are not directly attacking a district. Attacking unit 1 will be the general with the highest overall rank (as seen when you view a list of officers). Unit 2 will be the next highest in overall rank, and so on.
(4) When using the codes for choosing a new C-in-C, make sure the code for removing the default C-in-C general (G. Washington or T. Gage) is enabled. Note that once you remove the C-in-C status of the default general, his loyalty rating will now have a numbered value in it. At this point you can use his loyalty code to set the loyalty value to 100 if you want to.
