PRESS RELEASE 24 January 2002
Original Liberty win!

We are pleased to have stuck to our principles and come out with a result that recognises the reputation of our group and enables us to carry on without any risk of confusing the public, now that the other Liberty have to change their name.

The case should help a lot of hard-working bands with modest reputations, who can rely on it if they find their name being used. To do so bands should do the following:- To prove your reputation, keep records of all your gigs and reviews, always have a web-site and try and keep it live and updated, keep fan mail and a fan database and if you're not signed or have not had product out for a while, keep proof that you are working; Keep records of all positive responses from industry contacts such as A&R or management; Try and get your material to some radio even if unsigned and promote yourselves to public showcases. Keep records of this public exposure; Make sure your register on the Band Register and other industry or publicly accessed registration services, like PRS (for your songs); Never let go of your name!

We are sorry the Popstars Liberty had to go through this, but they denied our reputation. We wish them the best in their continued work with V2.

Finally when it comes to LIBERTY remember it's FUNK NOT FLUNK!
