GTA Trains

In many GTA cities, the player will find stations to enter trains. He can use trains to take a free ride around the city, to smash cars on the rails, terrorize passengers at stations, and many other creative things…

Trains can be found in the following GTA cities:

- Liberty City (GTA 1 & GTA III)

- Vice City (GTA 1)

- The GTA2 City

GTA

Speed: Slow

Body Quality: Indestructible (except by train collisions)

Carriages: 1 engine + 3 passenger cars

Where to find?

Liberty City (blue) and Vice City (red)

Comments:

Staying on the rails for a few seconds will fry you in a very impressive way. Driving a car on the rails is another bad idea, as the electricity will blow it up.

In GTA 1 only, it's possible to hijack a train and take it for a joyride, even crash it into the second train on the line.

GTA 2 - Respect is everything

Speed: Very fast

Body Quality: Tough

Carriages: 1 engine + 2 to 3 cars (various combinations of passenger and freight cars)

Where to find?

Everywhere in the City

Comments:

A true power machine: This train is incredibly fast and can take quite some damage, but it's not impossible to destroy. The railway network is quite dense in the districts of the City, and there are sometimes combined passenger and freight trains on the lines.

The rails are dangerous again, stay on them too long and the electricity will kill you.

GTA III

Speed: Moderate

Body Quality: Indestructible

Carriages: 2 passenger cars

Where to find?

Railway above Portland

1 Subway station in Portland (Northern Chinatown)

2 Subway stations in Staunton Island (North and South)

1 Subway station in Shoreside Vale (Francis International Airport)

Comments:

There is a subway line connecting all three islands of Liberty City and a railway line above the streets of Portland, and riding them is worth the time, as the graphics are just too beautiful.

Stepping on the rails won't fry you any more. It's even possible to take a car underground and take a ride around the tunnel.
