RICHARD GILBERT

I grew up in Seattle.  I lived in San Diego, Thousand Palms, and returned to Seattle because this is my home.  Im a high school graduate with some college.  From 1980 to 1985 I loaded supplies onto aircraft carriers in San Diego for DynCorp military contractor.  I loaded the USS Ranger, USS Kitty Hawk and USS Constellation.  Traveled all over the USA with my friend who recently passed away.  Lived on a farm.  Lived in Minnesota.  Been to every state except Hawaii.  We would have gone to Hawaii if we could put pontoons on our pickup truck!

Communal housing could be a solution.  We could rent rooms in a group house.  We need affordable housing.  Landlords demand first month, last month, security deposit.  You need thousands just to start renting, so how can you start if you have empty pockets?  Apartment rent needs to come way down so we can afford it.  Employers need to pay a lot higher wages.  Mayor Nickels wants to waste all our money on prisons.  That money should be spent on job training programs.  NICKELSVILLE IS MORE THAN A CAMP.  NICKELSVILLE IS OUR COMMUNITY.
