| The baphomet code has many names and usages. It's used extensively in Gnostic code. According to them he androgynous god creator who rules this world's consort is named barbelo (beard). Though he is allegedlly the devil she is allegedly of the light. (note the moons and the serpents, and the beard) The angel wings and devil horns, as well as the torch have pretty wicked symbolism. The similarities can be seen in the alchemical marriage, and in other portions of gnosticism and other religions. The wings symnbolize the woman, who are inferior according to gnosticism (male is considered a member of an inncoruptable realm to gnostics), and are meant to serve as angels. The 'devil' tries to play severity, trying to convince the woman she should be christian and play 'mercy'. Mercy as in destroying her sense of self so that the problem to the 'devil' (the 'light' she emanates being tainted through her mercy and his severity, turns dark, coagulated. The soul 'combines', and it tries to use the genetic code to claim the body and soul for it's own personal useage, the womans soul having been 'hollowed out') To men it uses a similar combination and pretends to be Venus or Columbia (hence the torch). Tool uses various imagery relating to this in many music videos. Another code used to damn women that glow to light (lack of testosterone makes demons try and destroy and subjugate them more I think). Of important note is every pair in gnosticism works by combining their 'energies', meaning the syzygys are seen as almost hermaphroditic principles. Sophie is another important code mentioned on another page, because of how much explaining is involved. Note, that Egyptian freemasonry is tied to gnosticism, and the name Seth is the Egyptian god of chaos. | |||||||||||||||||||||
