  Subject: Stand - Up
(Relayed from the Firearms Digest
Volume 06 : Number 504)
The following is a poem penned by Elaine F. Yanoshewski of Watson, Sk., on 2003/01/03. Mrs. Yanowshewski had been diagnosed with Terminal Cancer and at this date (2003/09/20) lies on her death bed at RUH in Saskatoon. As you read this poem I would ask that you give reflective thought to the plight of Cancer patients/victims and the Billion Dollars squandered on the Firearms Registry. We all in our lives know of a loved one, family member, friend, colleague or associate that has been touched or afflicted with this devastating disease which will claim the lives of an estimated 65,000 Canadians this year. As we give reflection and thought to what could have been, had the scarce financial resources not been squandered, might not we all offer up a silent prayer for those afflicted with what can not only be referred to as the medical curse of not only the Twentieth Century but also the Twenty First Century. STAND - UP
When Rock was in the picture, he tried to run the show
Failure was so evident; Chrétien said he must go !

Oh ! Not out of government, just to another slot
I wish they could accept it; for him there is no spot !

No guns in this country ? no powder or shells
This is so ridiculous; to anyone who dwells
In a land always known, for a rifle by ones side
Again, the losers in this mess; are those who law abide.

I've never known a criminal, to register his gun
Before he shoots a victim; and then decides to run.

Knives are now so popular, bats are used a lot
Crimes will never disappear; less painful to be shot !

Cruelty is so rampant, but the Libs must think it's cool
Why else would this have happened ? more control in their rule ?

Cutbacks in the budget, health care down the drain
But money flows like water; for gun control, that's insane !

But we're a placid people, trusting the leaders {?} in command
Too late before we realize; we've also lost our land !

The sweat and toil of yesteryear, pioneers so proud and strong
If we don't stand together; our heritage will be gone ....

Millions spent thus far ......
Another extension to register ...
June / 03. Xmas Eve... two shootings and four stabbings, in Calgary.
...... A total mess,,,
