There's a story in every photograph.

Welcome to LITRATO (Libangan. Transpormasyon. Kwento.), a personal Web site on photography as a medium of communication and a means of remembering the past. This project, done in partial fulfillment of Journalism 122: Publication Design and Layout, is an attempt to show the online public the ability and power of pictures to expose reality, fantasy, and those that come in between.

Lines, shapes and colors tell as much as words and sentences do - sometimes even more. That is why in viewing images, one should read beyond what the eyes see. Decipher every curve, the contrast or the lack of it as part of an interesting story that the infallible vision unfolds.

Only with this line of thought and faith can people truly appreciate the beauty and wisdom of photography for it is not only a matter of expressing oneself or capturing reality. It is, more importantly, fitting a scenery in a small frame and being able to tell a significant story out of it.

Just as a song tells us how "a picture paints a thousand words," let this Web site tell different stories - of young and old people, from grim and happy experiences, coming from all walks of life - through the visual prowess of photographs.
