        The Salem Witchtrials of 1692 is cruel and backward looking mistake in the American History. It influenced a lot of people’s lives. Salem Witchcraft Trials caused powerful sexism, village rivalries and a society in flux. In order to determine the causes of the Salem, one must understand the time period in history. This one made all the causes strands together.

       

In the seventeenth century, witchcraft was viewed as someone who made an agreement with the Devil. A witch in New England was a middle age woman who owned property. At that time, most New England laws stated that only males could inherit property. The women who owned properties vulnerable to witchcraft accusations.

       

Salem was a divided community. It was divided to Town and Village. Though Salem Village got independence, it was still politically connected to the Town. In1692, Salem Village was poisoned by factionalism. The factionalism present led to an outbreak of witchcraft accusation. The western half of the Village of witchcraft. These village rivalries led to the witchcraft trails occur.

       

In Salem, the residents were puritans. They all came from the other place. They lived under the covenant. They could not do anything they wanted to. Because of this changes, “the true nature of the bitterness and animosity finally emerges. This society in flux led to the witchcraft trials occur.

       

Based on the materials that talked above, we can know the causes of the Salem Witchcraft Trails are all partical answers to the question, but for the true cause of the Salem Witch trails, one must fit all these strands together like a jigsaw puzzle.
