Pretend to be Elizabeth Proctor. Write in your diary, explain why you lied for your husband John in court, and how you feel afterward.
Dear
Diary:
I did a wrong thing today. It is
extremely wrong. I cannot forgive myself.
Do you know what I did? I told the
judge my husband John Proctor did not have an affair with Abigail, I lied for
him. I wanted to save his name. I still love him because he is a good man, he
is my husband. Unfortunately, Proctor already told the judge the truth. He
tried to save me by using his frame. I was touched by what he did, but I cannot
help him. I cannot save my husband. I was worried about that he will hang by
those people.
