Auld Lang Syne

[Robert Burns]

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup of kindness yet,
for auld lang syne

I studied there from 1989- 1992. Among the teachers who had taught me, I had particularly remembered Ms Lily Yip, Mdm Teh, and Mrs Carol Kau. Miss Yip was  my inspirational role-model. I went on to TKGS, based on her experience as a TKGian. Today, I'm proud to say I was once from TKGS. She saw my potential and encouraged me to strive for greater heights. I remembered that I once admitted in front of the entire school- my ambition was to be a teacher. She was very touched to hear about my dream. Now that I m already 21, I may envision myself as one! Miss Yip sets a very different example as a teacher, an unforgettable one that students do not easily forget... Would you remember a teacher that could give your 4 periods of PE, discipline you by punishing one as a scarecrow or by walking up and down 8 or 9 flights of stairs, amaze the class with her quest for knowledge? I would never forget those days....

Although Mdm Teh was only my music teacher, we shared good relationships as friends eversince 1992. Her first impression was an everlasting one. Every student feared her, as she was very strict during all her music lessons. During that period, I was in band from 1989 to 1991. As she was the band teacher in charge, I had the opportunity to mingle with her. Originally, I hated being a member of the brass band, cos I wanted to be a dance club member. This meant that I hated Mdm Teh, cos she turned my life into a living hell, by compelling my will to be a band member. She shattered my dream as a school dancer when I was picked by her to join the Band. However, I do not blame her today. 3 years later in 1991, I was thankful that I once had the experience to be in the Band. I learnt to play the Cornet (a brother instrument of trumpet), and develop an amateur interest in music. I went back to my primary school in Nov 2000, and she was still there. The amazing thing was she recognized me! Today, I have not been involved in any dancing course. Yet, I still have a passion for dancing. It can be expressed by my love for dance by going to mambo. *_^

Mrs Carol Kau was my form teacher during my last year at Pearls' Hill School. She had done a wonderful job in improving my grades from 70% to slightly more than 80%. I owned half the credit to her. If not for her, I would not have been able to enter TKGS.

My primary school tution teacher: Mrs Pan. With her coaching and guidance, I began to love Chinese and seriously appreciate the beauty of Chinese. My strong foundation in Maths and Chinese comes from her passion in believing that foundation skills are the most important of all.

Last note: I have not scanned pics took during my primary school days. These pictures here are those of my primary school friends. However, they were all taken this year! Take a look. *_^
