In a small region of space exists a small group of about 20 colonized planets known as the Iron Wolves Empire, which consider themselves allies to the UEF, but not a part of it.
An UEF cruiser was patrolling the Iron Wolves Empire-UEF border when it was ambushed and destroyed, no traces were found of the attackers. The damage on the cruiser looked similar to that of the Iron Wolves Empire's Selveris class cruisers main cannon, causing the UEF to question the strength of their alliance with the Iron Wolves Empire.
Several days later one of the Iron Wolves Empire's smaller colonies are attacked by a race that call themselves the Krom, which completely destroy the colony and take it over. The Iron Wolves Empire soon realizes that they cannot hand this threat on their own
