Lesson 3 - Canonical House History

The Nineteenth Century Terran philosopher, George Santayana, once remarked “Progress, far from consisting in change, depends on retentiveness....when experience is not retained, as among savages, infancy is perpetual. Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it....This is the condition of children and barbarians, in whom instinct has learned nothing from experience.”
Those sage words remind us that although we remain focused on our future, it is imperative that we never lose sight of the past that brought us here.
Below you will find the required reading list for Canonical House history. I must remind you that our own personal version of the house history departs from the canonical version in the early 3020's. Nevertheless, a thorough understanding of Inner Sphere socio-econo-political development is essential for any commander.
