Daughter of rich Capulet, Young Juliet feigns a death

By Laura Aiges

Verona, Wednesday April 10- Thirteen year old, Juliet Capulet, the daughter of Fulgencio Capulet, feigned suicidal death late last night using an herbal potion that causes the victim to appear dead. This morning, servants of the Capulet mansion, including her motherly nurse found her apparently dead in her own bed.

Earlier today, reporters spoke with the Friar Lawrence who says that on Tuesday, the 9th, Juliet came to him in hysteria. The young girl has secretly been married to Romeo Montague against her parents wills. Her parents dont know about their elopement however oppose it. After banishment to Mantua because of Tybalt Capulets death, Juliet was sad he was gone.

As planned for Juliet to marry the county Paris next year, her father, Capulet suddenly wanted her to marry Paris tomorrow against Juliets wishes. Juliet came to the Friar immediately. According to Friar, Juliet said, "Tell me not, friar, that thou hearst of this, Unless thou tell me how I may prevent it. If, in thy wisdom, thou canst give no help, Do thou but call my resolution wise, and with this knife Ill help it presently."

Friar Lawrence told reporters he felt desperate for a plan instead of death for Juliet. "Hold, daughter; I do spy a kind of hope, Which craves as desperate an execution," said Friar to Juliet. He came up with this potion that puts people into a deep sleep for twenty-four hours and makes the victim appear dead.

The Friars plan was for Juliet to appear dead to her family and be placed on her deathbed or tomb. Then Friar sent a letter to Romeo indicating what happened so he can come for Juliet and they escape together without anyone knowing because they believe she is dead.
