Final Fantasy, Dimensions
By: Balnok

It was a beautiful day in New Midgar. Cid was sitting in his Lay-z-boy chair, in the planning room, watching dukes of hazard, while Barret was testing out his new gun-arm upgrade, a hand. Cloud came down on the pinball machine elevator, arm in arm with Tifa.
"Hey guys, whats going on?" Cloud asked, putting his sword on the table.
"Boss Hog was chasing the General Lee but could not quite catch them cause they jumped over a gorge," Cid said, way to into the show.
"I was not asking the Dukes, OK??" Cloud tried to joke, but Cid was not listening.
"BOO!!!" Vincent jumped down, in Chaos form, trying to scare Barret.
"You almost had me that time." Barret said sarcastically. Vincent walked away, in shame.
"Three, two, one." Tifa whispered. She turned around and slugged Yuffie in the nose, then kicked her away. She was rubbing her nose in pain.
"Next time you try to take my Materia, you wont have a nose to rub, got it?" Tifa threatened.
Then a signal came on the computer. It was Cait Sith. Suddenly, everyone (except for Cid) started running over to the screen.
"How about I put it on the big screen," Tifa said, putting in a command. Suddenly, the Dukes were replaced by a cat on a toy.
"NO!!!! What did you do!?!? It just got to the best part!!!" Cid screamed, reaching for Tifas neck. Suddenly The Ultima Weapon blocked his way.
"Touch her, and the room gets a new paint job." Cloud said, keeping Cid from his girl. He stepped back and got back in his chair, but there was a lump in it.
"Mr. Cid, could you get off of me?" He got up and saw Marlene sitting in his chair. She hopped out of the chair and climbed her daddies shoulder. Barret took his robotic hand and brushed it through his daughters hair, actually being able to feel it.
"Whats up Cait?" Cloud asked.
"Weve got a problem."

Cecil woke up with the early sun in his eyes. He felt weight on his chest. He smiled as he saw his daughter, crawling on him. He felt something stir beside him, and looked as his wife opened her eyes and look at them.
"Good morning, my king," her voice as soft as velvet. "and as for you, Princess Serena Rose Lunair, I thought I told you to stay in your crib."
"Looks like she has a sense of adventure, like us." Cecil said, jokingly. Rosa picked up the baby and put her with her twin brother.
"Why cant you be like C" she then smelled the smell that came from the sewers. "Cecil Golbez Lunair Jr., I dont remember feeding you rotting skunk last night." Rosa said, holding her nose and motioning for the maid. She was then pulled away swiftly and locked in Cecils embrace.  He let her go, and went over to his dresser to get changed. He pulled out his normal outfit, Paladin armor and sword, and Rosa put on her White Mage uniform. They walked into the dining room and sat down.

Cloud and everyone were standing outside of the old city of Midgar.
"Havent been here in a while." Cloud said, looking over the rubble of the once thriving city. Cait ran out of it, towards them.
"They are attacking the old town, trying to take it over as a base." He said, out of breath.
"Well what should we do?" Tifa asked.
"Lock and load," Vincent said, putting an automatic adaptation to the Death Penalty. Barret popped off his hand and put the missing score on it, with the master materias in it. They all ran in and heard machine-gun fire. There were old Shinra troops, fighting some giant insects.
"These things look friendly," Cloud said, sarcastically. He caught one in the head with his sword. Everyone else was fighting them back, one by one. They came out of a purple vortex. Cloud motioned to Barret and Tifa.
"Lets go in and see where they come from."

"King Cecil, Queen Rosa, a letter has come for you. It is from the dwarves of the underground."
Cecil, in his throne, took the letter and read it.
"So, they say that a new force is attacking them and they need Barons help? Well, then lets help them. Call in my squad!" he yelled, getting everyones attention. "Prepare the Red Wings and get the Enterprise ready."
In ran the kings most trusted friend and body guard, Kain the Dragoon. He was followed by the caller, Rydia, and Edge, the king of the ninjas.
"What is wrong Cecil?" Kain asked.
"There seems to be a new evil attacking the dwarves. We are going to help them fight." Everyone got on the airship and headed for the hole to the underground. They got to the castle and met with the king.
"These, they are like insects. They are coming in swarms. The dwarfs can not defend against these creatures." The king said when the Baron fleet got there got there.
"Where are they attacking?" Cecil asked.
"The tower of Babel. They come from a purple portal of some kind" The king replied. They went up to the tower of Babel, where the rift was. They were ready for anything. Then a man, wearing purple, with a big sword and yellow hair stepped out, with a big man with a gun arm, and a girl in a bartender outfit. They stared at the group of dwarves and the 5 humans.
"Cloud, where are we?" Tifa asked nervously, clinging onto Clouds arm.
"Who are you, and why do you sent those monsters at us?" the dwarf king asked harshly.
"Monsters? The only monsters I know of are the ones we followed through the portal." Cloud said, puzzled.
"Maybe we should start this over." Cecil said, trying to keep them from fighting, "King, keep your tanks here, and the Red Wings will help protect this area." They all left, except for the tanks and airships, and went to the castle.
"Now, first, I am Cecil Golbez Lunair, king of the city of Baron, and you are on Earth. This is my wife and queen, Rosa White Lunair." Cecil said, when they got to the castle, "Who are you, and what planet are you from?" Cloud looked puzzled, then said,
"I am Cloud Strife, this is Tifa Lockheart, and the big guy is Barret Wallace. We are from New Midgar, also on Earth," Cloud said, trying to make sense of what Cecil had told him.
"What do you mean you are from earth? What do you take us for, fools? We have been all over this planet, and there is not a New Midgar, there is not even an old Midgar," Kain said, not believing what he heard.
"You will have to excuse my friend, he does not trust many people now, not after an incident with our former king." Cecil said, shutting Kain up. Barret started switching his arm back to the hand, making a clicking noise. Cecil grabbed the hilt of his sword, thinking that something was going to happen. Barret looked over at him.
"What?? Aint you ever seen a man with a robotic arm before?" then he looked around. The technology here was less advanced then what he was use to.
"Very interesting," Barret turned his head to see a man with a long brown beard looking at his arm. "Oh, Im sorry, I am Cid, the engineer here," The man said, still looking at the arm.
"Cid? The engineer? Where have I heard that before?" Cloud said chuckling.
"Now as we were saying, you can not be from earth becaus" Cecil was stopped by Cid.
"Yes they can," he said, getting everyones attention. "They are from earth indeed, but not from our Earth. I believe that the purple portal that you stepped through, was a Dimensional rift." He explained what he meant. "The way I see it, these monsters tore a rift in the very dimensional barrier, creating a tear so they could attack. We have seen that they grab people, and absorb them. I believe that they do this for energy to reproduce. Now, their nested, in between our dimensions. This space is called a dimensional gap. It is like an anti-dimension. When you tried to follow the monsters through, you were jumped directly to here. That is because, you are not made for that type of atmosphere. It is very fast out there, and you moved to slow for it. There bodys are made for the difference so that when they go through the rifts, they get use to the speed. I could make a special vehicle that can help you speed up while in there, but I need help to do it."
"How about our Cid? He is an engineer too." Cloud answered.
"Maybe he could help," Cid thought.
They all agreed that in the morning they would head off to the rift again.

BLAM, BLAM, BLAM, Cecil ran out, and saw Barret blowing a few bugs away with his gun-arm.
"Youyou have a tank on your arm??" Cecil asked.
"No, its a gun. Its like a miniature cannon," Barret tried to explain, but to no avail. Finally, after trying to explain it, he gave up and said, "its like magic." Cecil understood that, and walked back in the castle, to get ready to go to the rift.
They stood in front of the rift, getting ready to go in. Cecil took a deep breath then stepped through the swirling, purple mass.
