We got a letter from an instructor who went to the AP luncheon, complimenting
us on the ambiance, quality of the luncheon, and helpfulness of the student
helpers.
-
Eggroll sales started. Jan Finger is handling it. Jan cannot do it every
week. If we need more money by spring, we can do it more often. One parent
expressed interest in selling tamales.

Membership:
-
265 memberships are paid for. We had 332 last year. Most memberships
were sold at the start of the year.
-
Next year, we should put a membership form in the back of the newsletter.
-
We can put one in the next newsletter. The deadline is next week.
-
We should put out the membership form at the next meeting.
-
We can put a form on the Lincoln High Website.
-
Jan Finger will ask Ann Tompkins if she has a membership form.
-
We need to tell what the PTSA does. Where does the money go? Joe will write
an article for the newsletter. Ron can put a copy on the PTSA Website.
-
The pancake breakfast is run by the music and dance boosters. The last
one had the best turnout ever. Next year, the PTSA should set up a table
to solicit membership.
-
The modified PTSA by-laws are in-transit to the state PTA.
-
PTSA Scholarship: There has never been an application form. We should propose
an application. What is the criteria for awarding scholarships: Academic,
community service, leadership, financial need? Should the applicants be
required to write an essay? Do we want them to present it? The group that
reads the application should not look at the name to avoid bias. Joe Silveria,
Jan Finger, and Cary Catching will be on the committee to decide on the
criteria.
-
Amanda Bush will put scholarship information on the school Website.
-
PTSA mini-grants: We have money set aside for mini-grants. Mr. Funk will
bring the Lincoln Foundation form for mini-grants next time. He will submit
a form to the staff in early January. Schools may be impacted by state
budget reductions after January 1. The staff may need the grants in the
spring. They need to submit applications in February.
-
Next meeting : 12/12.
