The clubs main purpose is to:
*Help at build sites across the county on weekends (Sat. or Sun.) � early mornings to early afternoons
*To raise money and participate in Habitats annual �Walk For Homes� Walk-a-thon
*To fundraise as a high school club for this worthy cause
This club does not have regular in school meetings � participating on weekend builds replaces meetings. COMMUNICATION is done through E-MAIL, MORNING ANNOUNCEMENTS, and FLYERS POSTED AROUND SCHOOL announcing an upcoming build. We will visit build sites approximately once a month. To participate in a build, permission forms must be filled out. We will make them available prior to a build. Transportation is not provided due to high costs � we meet at LHS the morning of the build and caravan to the site. Carpooling can be worked out.
Last year (2004-2005) we helped to sheetrock a new Yonkers home, learned how to frame a wall at the YMCA, and painted the exterior of an elderly woman�s home in Mt. Kisco. We also raised approximately $700.00 for the Walk-a-thon.
