Kickapoo
March 13th, 2004 3:27pm

The Liberty High School Winter Guard put forth their very best effort today at Kickapoo.  They were calm and relaxed when they started their show and performed every set beautifully. The entire crowd went crazy and the guard even received a standing ovation from the guard of Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield. Mrs. Fudge congratulated everyone on a job well done after the show, but the score did not show the same excitement.

While the ensemble and general effects 1 judges placed Liberty in second and the general effects 2 judge placed them in first, the weapons and movement judges were not as impressed, scoring Libertys best show of the season a painful seventh place. This averaged the guard into fifth place out of eight in Regional B, with a score of 70.1/100, three-tenths of a point behind their score from two weeks ago. In addition, because Kickapoos festival was seeding day for championships, Liberty will be the tenth guard to perform in class Regional B.

The guard is not letting one fluke with a couple of unsatisfied judges ruin their determination, however. They are going to work harder and blow everyone away at Eureka next weekend!
