The Show 2003
This year's show is flaming hot with the LHS Color Guard pulling out all the stops and manipulating brand new props and flags like never before! Thanks to the help of tons of sponsors and the ever-faithful Krispy Kream fundraising we had plenty of new equipment this year and also some new uniforms! Also we can't forget our thanks to the woman who created everything we do, Mrs. Fudge!
Children of Sanchez
Our first song on our show is "Children of Sanchez" by Chuck Mangoine. We use a building technique in coming out onto the field in our snazzy brand new uniforms and then, BAM! Everyone nails a helicopter toss with our red and gold lightning bolt flags. We float through the band after some guard work and then four of us go pick up our first differnt prop, the rifles. They're taped to be red prism on one side and gold on the other.

We finish out this song with the flags doing a second helicopter toss and the rifles tossing a double and then a huge contasion with a strong ending pose.
Land of Make Believe
"Land of Make Believe," also written by Chuck Mangione, is a very playful song. The Guard turns on their smiles as they race out onto the field with little yellow swing flags. They play tag and laugh until the routine begins. As the swing flaggers head for backfield, Jackie comes from the sideline with a big yellow flag and does a solo, until she reaches the backfield with the rest of the Guard to start the "Jim Thing." We again use a building effect with our rainbow flags; for the first eight-count the two people with yellow and the two people with orange flags spin, on the next eight count the two people with green flags come in, on the next the two blues and then on the last the two purples.

We move a lot during this song and the ending is very anit-climatic, which all serves to work up to our last piece of the show...
Malaguena
Malaguena, performed by BLAST! as a finale, is an awesome ending for our show 2003. We use our rainbow flags in the beginning to do something called a crank toss, which is usually about a story and a half high. Then half of the Guard has red fans that they use to dance around the trombone soloist in a very Spanish style. After the fan dancers, the other half of the Guard features red chain flags in a matador style that they finally fling from the field and run to join the fan dancers in the middle of the field where the entire guard dances to the swing section.

Getting serious again, we get our flame flags to do another building effect to get onto the field. Our routine is then drum corps level work as the song heats up and we finally finish out the routine and then entire show with a helicopter toss that we catch lying on our backs on the ground!
