The Liverpool High School

Gay/Straight Alliance History

The Liverpool High School Gay/Straight Alliance was formed by students who felt that the atmosphere at Liverpool High School, and others, wasn't very gay-friendly.

There's not a day that goes by that a glbt teen doesn't go through the world and hear nasty, ugly words about them. Shouldn't school, a place where children spend seven to eight hours a day, be a peaceful, productive atmosphere, no matter their sexual orientation of gender identity?

The Liverpool High School Gay/Straight Alliance says "Yes!," along with so many other G.S.A.s formed and trying to form now.

Thanks to supportive faculty and a wonderful administration at Liverpool High School, we are slowly but surely teaching tolerance, not hatred, smiles and grins, and not scowls and frowns. We are hoping for bright futures, and not dropping out of school because we aren't welcome.
