1966 & !967 Remember:

1966 – A cluster of businesses are destroyed by fire in downtown Logansport including Timberlake Gifts, Porter Drugs,and Chogas' Billiards.   
The Kokomo Morning Times predicted – after Logansport won its Regional, 82-78 over the Valparaiso Vikings – that the Berries would win the state basketball crown. 
Oscar Winner – Elizabeth Taylor for her roll in the film "Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" 
Lebanon’s Tigers with their All-American Rick Mount eliminated the Berries 65-64 at the Lafayette Semi-State in Purdue’s Lambert Fieldhouse after Logan had a 51-39 edge going into the 4th quarter.
Berries tennis team had their best record in ten years and placed third in the N.C.C.
The grassy slopes of Spencer Park adjacent to the Eel River were perfect for touch football on sunny autumn weekends.

1967- Logansport clipped the defending and unbeaten state champs, the Michigan City Red Devils 83-82 in double overtime on the opponent’s home floor in the Berries’ season finale.
Music – "Hey There Georgy Girl", "A Little Bit Me, A Little Bit You", "I Think We’re Alone Now", Mitch Ryder’s "Sock It To Me Baby" and Blues Magoos "We Ain’t Got Nothing Yet"
The LHS senior outing had a feed at Keitzer’s Drive In and then the movie "In Like Flint" at the State Theater.
