Robert E. "Bob" Hassett

Cincinnati - Services for Robert E. Hassett, 54, Cincinnati, formerly of Logansport, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Zeller Funeral Home.

He died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, in University Hospital.

Born Oct. 31, 1948, in Logansport, he was the son of Carl J. and Theodora Watkins Hassett. He was married on March 8, 1969, in St. Vincent DePaul Church, Logansport, to Vicky Rozzi, who survives. Mr. Hassett was a 1976 graduate of Indiana University. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Viet Nam war. He was employed at Patrick Financial Corp. as a general securities principal.

He was a craftsman and builder for his wife and three daughters, proudly supporting them through college, to marriage and through their moves from apartment to new homes. The Hassetts lived an exciting life filled with travel, love and laughter. He loved his music, from Clapton and the Beatles to Muddy Waters, and laughed with Jake and Elwood. Mr. Hassett celebrated the birth of a new granddaughter, and recently traveled to Hollywood to support his daughter's film and acting career. He lived to support the dreams of his wife and children. Everyone loved Mr. Hassett.

Also surviving are his mother, Theodora Hassett; three daughters and sons in-law, Julie and Andrew Atkin, Los Angeles; Sarah and Ben Jones, Duluth, Minn., and Elizabeth and Brad Weitz, Cincinnati; two granddaughters, Lauren Weitz and Kaitlyn Jones; one brother, Jim Hassett; and two sisters, Carolyn Ennis and Barbara Willis.

His father preceded in death.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
