| When Bryant was 6 years of age, his family moved to Italy where he learned to speak Italian. Around this time he learned how to play the game of soccer. Years later he said that if he stayed in Italy he would have tried to play professional soccer for FC Barcelona. Then in 1991, he moved back to the United States with his family and played basketball for Lower Marion High School in Philadelphia. Kobe planned on going to college, and he received a 1080 on the SAT, but instead he got drafted by the Charolette Hornets. He was only 17 years old when this happened. |
