1st Championship Ring
After the Lakers finished their season with a great record of 67-15 tying the '92 Bulls and '86 Celtics for 5th best in NBA history, they were expected to play in the NBA Finals but they nearly got defeated by the Sacramento Kings.  Luckily for them, they won easily in Game 5.  Now  they were going to play the Suns.  They won this series easily 4-1 and were now ready to play their next opponent, the Portland Trailblazers.  The Lakers were down 3-1 in the series but somehow managed to win two in a row to force a Game 7.  The Lakers won this game giving them a ticket to the NBA Finals to face the Indiana Pacers.  The Lakers took the first two games 104-87 and 111-104.  The next game gave them trouble losing 100-91.  Now it was on to Game 4 where the Lakers won in overtime 120-118.  They were now winning the series 3-1 and in good shape but did not play well in Game 5 losing 120-87.  The Pacers would have to win the next two games to be the champions but the Lakers finished them off in Game 6 winning 116-111 giving Kobe his first ever championship ring.
