Based on our school newspaper, the Smoke Signal page has stories and articles from our four years at Lompoc High School.
Los NinosThe Lompoc High's Interact club, in 1982, raised in excess of one thousand dollars to aide Los Ninos Orphanage in Tijuana, Mexico: An orphanage called "Los Ninos" in Tijuana, Mexico, was the big project for 1982's Interact club. They raised $1,041.00 on a bake auction for the Rotary club, and planned to stay in the orphanage for a weekend, where they would care for the child as their parents would have. They had a food drive, and also took clothes and toys to the unfortunate children. Being that the theme for the district was "The Family Strength of America," the club felt "Los Ninos" was a good way to strengthen an important part of the family, the child.
