| The Hiner IV family has had a busy year, with both parents pursuing degrees, jobs, and family life here with Mimre and Papa. It has been a wonderful, multi-generational experience; we won?t soon forget Kaleb?s nearly nightly ritual of ?tucking us in, goodnight? before turning in with his parents, downstairs. But LN&K are migrating to a house of their own nearby; they?ve had a little trouble getting the place up to occupancy specs, but are about to finalize their move. Larry is continuing his studies in Digital Media Communications at SacramentoState while Nikki is chasing down Child Psych coursework at CosumnesRiverCollege. Kaleb is simply being too darn cute. |

| C&C are planning graduations this Spring (she in Political Science and he in Music, with an eye to grad work in Ethnic Musicology). Both have been accepted into the Peace Corps, where they will begin a 2+ year stint in sub-Saharan Africa next September. They will be chillin? in Sacto this Summer with Mom & Dad until their ship comes in. |

| Kyle is continuing his adventure with the great beyond via Aerospace Engineering at Cal Poly Pomona. He is letting nothing distract him as he gears down into his Physics minor as well. He has been working part-time as an assistant in the Physics Department, and hopes to score an internship with NASA or the JPL this year. |

|
| Travis is still entertaining considerations of the priesthood as a vocation and is interested in majoring in Philosophy (for that occupational goal) and Theatre (for his own interests). We sojourned to the East coast this Fall to humor his wayward goal of returning to a wet and cold climate. As a Junior this year, he still has some time to come to his senses?☺ Kidding aside, Travis hasintentionally lost over 60 lbs. this year, partially owing to his extremededication to his position in stage management for our local Summer musical theatre, and the 16+ hour days of intense physical activity. |

|
| We had a pretty eventful year ourselves. Besides keeping up with the kids and grandkid, we racked up some significant frequent flier miles. Sadly, some of that was due to the death of Chrie?s father in March; while expected after a 5 year struggle with cancer, this remains a bellwether event in our generation. As for me, I spent 6 months in a Chaplain Residency program at SutterMedicalCenter, receiving great spiritual rewards from my patients and eventually discerning that this was not to be a full-time calling. Gratefully, I have been chosen to be the first Telemedicine Program Manager for Sutter here in Northern California, and have just now started in that role. Much more adventure awaits! May God bless our friends and family during this holiday season and for the rest of the New Year. |
