1st Lakeside Heights Sparks
We are a small group of 10 girls and 2 leaders and 2 young leaders.
We meet after school in a local church and have a lot of fun and games while learning about guiding and what it entails.

Activity report : Meetings from beginning in September until mid-October:
Colored horse cut-outs and made Canada flag poster for RCMP jamboree
Played octopus,
Had a bring a friend night, picture of favorite Olympic sport, discussion about the Olympics, team spirit and fair play.
Thanksgiving craft (turkeys with paper plates and feather)
Learned promise and read story.
Leaves craft, tag outside, hide and seek, drew trees, pumpkins, leaves, apples.
Played duck duck Spark.
Meetings from beginning in mid-October until mid-November.
Games night, each girl brought in a board game to share.
Practiced opening and closing and promise for enrollment.
Halloween party, had pizza, costumes, goodies, games, scary story. Had this meeting with the 2nd Sparks (almost 25 Sparks together!).

I'm growing booklets. Girls colored pages. Played manners to help girls learn politeness. 1 new girl registered so we are up to 10. Have a new helper: Tiia.

Meetings from beginning in mid-November until mid-December.
Taking care of myself: game with junior leaders, playing matching game with pictures of personal hygiene. Loud wide game, talked about good habits, bad habits (showed bottles of shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, hairbrush, etc.?). Each girl received a toothbrush to take home.
Practiced carols. Made crafts: candy cane reindeer and smarties reindeer.
Christmas party: each girl wore either red or green or something else Christmassy, each girl brought in a dollar store gift for their secret Santa. Red winter Garfield story, game, gift exchange, snacks.
Winter carnival: went outside to slide, had relay races, had hot chocolate and girl guide cookies, played indoor game, everyone got a prize for their participation in the Carnival.

Winter Carnival : opening, played outside. Sliding, relay races, outdoor games.
Show and Tell : each Sparks girl brought in an item, told thegroup why they had chosen to bring it and why it was special to them.
Hobby Night : each girl set up their own table with their 'hobby' on it.Girls got 20 minutes to share their hobby.
Fitness Night : played withskipping ropes, running, jumping, stretching and played games. Girlslearned about the importance of exercise and how much fun it can be.
Valentine's Day Cards : girls made their own cards. Valentine's Day Party: the girls gave each other Day cards, talked about secret Valentine's andgifts the girls got for Valentine's Day.
