The Wonderful World of the Lhasa (Khamba) Apso
Born into this world of my parents, my venerable Nepalese mother, Tara and my dear Nepalese father, Ghazni. I was conceived in Canada and born in September 1989. So I myself am approaching a ripe age. But I still have great vigor and have no problems of health. Hopefully this will continue because I have an important job to fulfill which is guarding the Tibetan Buddhist Temple of Montreal, Chang Chub Choling.
I enjoy my work which is due to the kindness of my master, the Venerable Geshe Khenrab Gajam. He passed into the state of bliss on October 4, 1993 and I miss him greatly. He was so kind to me and helped give meaning to my life as a dog. In my future lives this will benefit me and I will surely take birth as a fully endowed human one day. Then I will understand what is being said during the teachings. As it is I do understand a lot but mostly I wander around the shrine room when the teachings on Buddhist philosophy are being given. I enforce the meditation sitting rules, nobody moves if I am lying beside them or they get a reprimand from yours truly. I just instill a little fear in them, by giving a little snarl. The rest of the time I hang out by the front door looking for passing dogs, who I find a barkable attraction and do the barking number at the top of my lungs. But there are other benefits from being here. Lots of human companionship of very high caliber such as the great Lamas who reside or visit the Temple. I usually get a lot of hand-outs from them. Blessings of affection and tidbits directly from their dinner plates, wow! Food transformed into bliss and emptiness. And I don't have to roll over on my back like this, it just amuses me to do it because people think I am deferring to them but I ain't really!
