| Alaskan Malamute Rescue in West Virginia |
| What is Alaskan Malamute Rescue? In a nutshell, rescue of any animal involves taking him or her from an "undesirable" situation and finding a new home for him/her. An "undesirable" situation may be the death of an owner, closure of a puppy mill or breeding program, or an owner may simply not want their pet anymore. It is difficult to imagine someone not wanting their pet anymore, but this happens all too often. Common reasons for giving up pets include new baby, increased work commitments, loss of interest, moving to a new place etc. The Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL) is dedicated to the health and well-being of Alaskan Malamutes in the USA, with an emphasis on rehabilitating and rehousing these beautiful dogs. |
| I regret to announce that WVAMR is no longer actively handling dog rescue or adoption. If you are interested in adoption, fostering a dog, or helping out, please contact a neighboring state rescue via our national website. Please do not hesitate to contact me for information about rescue or the breed. The quickest way to get a response from us is via email.
