A few important things first :-

1. The data in the accompanying BGL files is solely for use for flight simulation hobbyists and is not to be used for any real-world flight planning.
2. This compilation is FREEWARE. Under no circumstances should its contents be used for personal gain. Please do not attempt to make money from this compilation.
3. The data is formatted for use with FSNavigator version 2.x to 3.x (and Super Flight Planner) in conjunction with Microsoft Flight Simulator 98. I have not tried using it on Flight Simulator 2000.
4. You are advised to back up any old data that this file may replace. Please note that any damage to your system, software, hardware or anything else is solely your own, personal responsibility. If you do not wish to agree to this, DO NOT USE the contents.
5. I have only provided installation instructions for FSNavigator. I believe these files can also be used with Super Flight Planner. The installation routine should not be any different, however, you may have to reload the database in SFP the next time you run it.
6. I assume you know how to install scenery in FS98. If you are new to it, there are very good tutorials available on the web (e.g., try http://www.flightsim.com/ in their 'How To' sections).

ABOUT THIS DATABASE

The data contained is the current AIRAC cycle 11 effective November 4, 2000. Hence the fixes contained in the files are what the real-world pilots use to navigate the skies. You can get regular updates from my website (http://fly.to/swamy) or from FlightSim.Com. Additionally, if you want to be kept updated about availability of new data on my website, please visit http://fly.to/swamy and enter your email address in the box provided there.

INSTALLATION

1. If you have an older installation of worldwide fixes, please remember to remove and disable them in FS98.
2. Make a subdirectory (e.g., C:\FIXES) and unzip all the BGL files (in FIX11.ZIP) into it.
3. Start FS98 and add the directory (e.g., C:\FIXES) to the SCENERY LIBRARY as a REGIONAL scenery and remember to activate it.
4. Exit FS98, and run the FSNAVDBC utility that came with FSNavigator.
5. After it completes running (may take a few minutes depending on the number of add-on sceneries you have), start FS98, hit F9 (or any other custom key you use) to launch the FSNavigator window.
6. Once there, select Option - Open Scenery to load the scenery database, and the fixes into the current window. From the next time onwards, you will not have to do this as FSNavigator defaults to the last used scenery database.

If you got through that correctly, the global fixes should be available to you for including in your plans.

I welcome suggestions by email. If you wish to use the database for converting it to any other format, do so by all means, but make sure you do it in the spirit of FREEWARE which keeps the entire flight simming community going.

CREDITS

Credits go to Helge Schroeder who have done a great job in making it easier for thousands of us to fly around the globe using his FSNavigator program.

Credits also go to Prabal Ghosh (http://drive.to/prabal) who brings us the original data in SquawkBox (another great navigation add-on) format, and which I used to convert into the BGL files for FSNavigator.
