The
Wall
She
used to have a wall around her.
A
wall that could protect her from anything.
From
being hurt, being provoked, being angry, and being loved¡¦
She
spent a lot of time building the wall.
And a
lot more time hiding the wall,
So
that people coming to her would not notice the wall
So
that people would falsely believe that they are with her,
when she was actually alone, alone
in the wall.
Day
after day, night after night,
The
wall became thicker,
Thicker
and thicker that she could no longer break the wall by herself.
Wishing
for someone to break the wall, wishing to invite someone in the wall
Yet
too scared to ask for help.
Then,
he came to the wall.
She
smiled at him, just as she did to others, while crying behind the wall.
Day
by day, he came closer to the wall,
slowly and steadily, so that she
would be less scared, so that she would hold his hands.
There
he came, melting a small portion of the wall, patting her crying shoulder.
He
gently touched her face, wiped the tears with his fingers, held
her hands¡¦
The
wall¡¯s yet to be melt away,
But there¡¯s
a small door in the wall
through which she comes out from time
to time, holding his hands,
She
now looks around the world, and smiles...
