BAKER, JAMES L., lawyer, jurist, was born Feb. 2, 1847, in
Montgomery, N. Y.  He received his education at the Ithaca
academy, and graduated from the law department of Union
college. He has attained success as an eminent lawyer of
Ithaca, N. Y.; has been its city attorney, and filled with honor
the position of special county judge of Tompkins County, N. Y.
