Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Teradata Decision Experts, which was an acquisition of DecisionPoint Software by Teradata.  Performed several roles within the organization, including

 

·         Architected the conversion of Teradata Decision Experts software from an Oracle based data warehouse to a Teradata data warehouse.

·         Participate in the architecture council, which is responsible for architectural decisions across all Teradata Applications.

·         Defining architectural direction of the Teradata Decision Expert toolset, including ETL, source experts, metadata management, data model design and implementation, and end user data access.

·         Advising the teams responsible for designing and implementing data models, and associated ETL definitions for data coming from Oracle, PeopleSoft, and SAP applications.

·         Actively involved in both pre and post sales activities associated with the customer purchase of Teradata Decision Experts products.

Sequent Computer Systems (now part of IBM) – Beaverton, OR

Originally employed as an IT resource to support Sequent’s implementation of Ask ManMan running on the VAX VMS operating system, and part of the project team that migrated from ASK to Oracle Applications.  Primary technical resource in the implementation of Oracle Applications at Sequent where alpha and beta versions of Oracle Financials and Manufacturing were implemented.  Developed and implemented a data warehouse solution based on data from Oracle Applications for internal usage at Sequent.  Transitioned from an IT resource to a pre-sales resource supporting the sale of Sequent hardware to support customers running Oracle Applications and data warehouse technologies.  Performed many activities including RFI completion, benchmarking, and acting as an advisory resource to customers.  Migrated to the role of engineering manager responsible for the productization of Sequent’s internal data warehouse software to make it available to Oracle Applications customers as a software offering from Sequent.

 

Shared Medical Systems (SMS) – Malvern, PA

May 1986 – April 1988

 

Customer support resource responsible for the support of patient care and billing software implemented at ten hospitals in the New York City and northern New Jersey regions of the US.  The software was written in MUMPS, and ran on the VAX PDP and VMS platforms.  Primary responsibilities included remote telephone support, fixing software bugs, implementing software change requests, and assisting in the diagnosis of hardware problems.

Personal Highlights

 

  • Married to Leslie with two children (Andrew – freshman at Western Washington University, and Rebecca – sophomore in high school)
  • Actively coach youth (U11-U18) soccer at the competitive level, leading both boys and girls teams to state championships for second tier teams.  Specialized focus on teamwork, game strategy, and skills development.
