Everyone's bid to sup
at the table of God up
the stairs, down the hall,
through any door--all
to the room of festival
The most God-like event
for timeless ages went
unnoticed, until that day
of the being human way
that ushered in the say
Otherwise known as speech
the say let the being reach
far beyond itself to joint
the word, the world, and point
to the hush that does anoint
The wilderness got calm
and at the end of the palm
the beast found a peace
so deep, 'twas sensed
'twould never cease
Yet even with release
wild things did increase
both outside and in,
separating the skin
one from another being
The beast must look to listen,
and drop desire to glisten,
then up to the light
hold each word tight
to say the surd upright
Still even the say silent
remains not self-reliant
for hush apart from act
sounds distant from fact
with no generous impact
