Mysticism VII: Path
Something savage this way comes in the night before the day's playfulness and intelligence dispel the dark despair
A seething, untamed, unnamed something comes to jar wakefulness and, wakeful itself, to threaten all complacency
If you stop, look, listen, and give complete attention, you can discern the disorder's root, the radical ascent of its arising
You notice night's own brilliance play upon the light of day and reveal a craving for the lightness of being while the commanding naught commands
You must be poor and chaste to whirl and chant such, and perhaps a might out of your mind; still you whirl and you chant for in that action, contemplation thrives
Prepare to dance with dervishes and fight for fairness |
